MBA in Ireland Eligibility & Requirements

The MBA in Ireland eligibility and admission process in Irish universities can be done online. Although different universities have their conditions, the following are the common MBA in Ireland requirements for admission.

  • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute which is equivalent to the primary degree level of Irish universities.
  • Work experience of around 1-3 years is preferred.
  • The candidate has to qualify for the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). However, there are plenty of options of MBA in Ireland for Indian students without GMAT as well. Many universities accept applications with GRE also.
  • Candidates from India have to qualify for an English language proficiency test like IELTS or TOEFL. Exceptions here as well.
  • As part of their MBA in Ireland requirements for admission, some universities also interview the selection process of the candidates. Be prepared for panel discussion or interview in case your university asks for it
  • A minimum of two letter of recommendations, preferably from professional backgrounds are also required. Sometimes three references may also be asked.

MBA in Ireland Requirements for Application

  • For the online admission process, the application form of the particular university has to be filled online by the candidate along with the payment of the application fee.
  • The application cycle is open only for a certain period of time during the year. This is usually from September/October to the February/March of the subsequent year. If you are applying for scholarships, make sure you apply as early as possible. Check individual university deadlines.
  • Certain necessary documents are to be attached along with the application like Statement of Purpose, Essays, LORs, etc. as directed by the university. If you are applying for scholarship or funding, an additional Funding Essay may also be asked.

Scholarships for MBA in Ireland

There are a large number of scholarships available to international students of MBA in Ireland from various sources like the Irish Government, the management institutions, and certain organizations. Different institutions and organizations have their eligibility requirements for the scholarships given by them. Given below are some of the scholarships given to management students in Ireland:

  • TU Dublin Centenary Scholarship Program– This scholarship is applicable only once and it covers around 50% of the tuition fees of the students.
  • Achiever MBA Scholarship– This scholarship is offered to both Irish as well as international students by UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. It covers the tuition fees of the particular year of the management students.
  • UCC Excellence Masters Scholarship– It is offered to both Irish and international students enrolled in any post-graduate course at University College, Cork. The amount of scholarship is equal to EU fees. International students have to pay the remaining fees themselves.
  • Forte Fellows Program– This scholarship is offered by the Forte Foundation to international students. It partially funds the students in Forte sponsor schools.
  • University of Limerick India PG Scholarship– These are merit-based scholarships provided to Indian students studying at the University of Limerick. The scholarship amount ranges from 1 lakh to 3.5 lakhs.

MBA in Ireland without IELTS

  • While IELTS is required for applying for an MBA in Ireland for Indian students, it is not a compulsion.
  • Alternative examinations that you can appear for are TOEFL or Pearson PTE exam.
  • Further, in some universities, if you have completed your bachelor’s in an English-language institution and you can provide proof, it is also acceptable.
