GMAT Focus Edition
The GMAC or the Graduate Management Admission Council has announced the launch of the GMAT Focus Edition, which will be rolled out in the current year’s fourth quarter. This new version of the GMAT is designed to align with rapidly changing business scenarios and equip you with necessary preparation to succeed in the evolving business landscape.
So, here’s unveiling the newest GMAT version – the GMAT Focus Edition, which primarily aims to assess the test applicants on two crucial aspects: critical reasoning and data literacy skills.
GMAT Focus Edition: Implication of changes for students
The new GMAT Focus Edition which is all set to be introduced in the last quarter of this year will continue to co-exist with the current GMAT exam. However, after some time, only the GMAT Focus Edition will be available for the students to take.
So, students need to be aware of the implications of changes that are set to occur in the new version of GMAT, to be well-prepared for the impending refinements, ace the test, and make it to their dream college.
- The Data Insights Section in the new GMAT Focus edition will be similar to the current integrated Reasoning Section and will be included in the main score.
#Implication 1: Students will have to significantly hone their data analytical skills.
2. The Essay Section also called the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) in the current GMAT has been removed in the GMAT Focus Edition as the GMAT test makers reckon that students’ writing skills can be analyzed in other avenues like SOPs, essays, personal statements, etc.
#Implication 2: The test will be significantly reduced which in turn will alleviate students’ exam stress and exhaustion.
3. The Quantitative Section of GMAT Focus Edition will not have geometric problems as entailed in the existing GMAT pattern.
#Implication 3: Students will now have to focus on only arithmetic and algebraic skills for the Quantitative Section.
4. The sentence correction questions that are present in the Verbal Reasoning Section of the prevalent GMAT will not be there in the GMAT Focus Edition.
#Implication 4: Students won’t be expected to be Grammar Nazis! Their time needed for Grammar preparation will be considerably minimized.
Registration dates for GMAT Focus Edition
GMAT Focus Edition registration starts from August 29, 2023. The tests will start from Q4 2023. Actual test dates are going to be announced soon.

I joined EduAims back when I was in the final year of my graduation. I was a very confused individual … More and the faculty at EduAims really helped me understand my future prospects. When I reached out to them 2 years after as well, they readily helped me draft my essays for my applications. They helped me streamline my thoughts, and to my absolute surprise, I made it to a great B-School with a relatively low GMAT school!

Reading Comprehension Question
Directions:
The questions in this group are based on the content of a passage. After reading the passage, choose the best answer to each question. Answer all questions following the passage on the basis of what is stated or implied in the passage.
Question:
Schools expect textbooks to be a valuable source of information for students. My research suggests, however, that textbooks that address the place of Native Americans within the history of the United States distort history to suit a particular cultural value system. In some textbooks, for example, settlers are pictured as more humane, complex, skillful, and wise than Native Americans. In essence, textbooks stereotype and depreciate the numerous Native American cultures while reinforcing the attitude that the European conquest of the New World denotes the superiority of European cultures. Although textbooks evaluate Native American architecture, political systems, and homemaking, I contend that they do it from an ethnocentric, European perspective without recognizing that other perspectives are possible.
One argument against my contention asserts that, by nature, textbooks are culturally biased and that I am simply underestimating children’s ability to see through these biases. Some researchers even claim that by the time students are in high school, they know they cannot take textbooks literally. Yet substantial evidence exists to the contrary. Two researchers, for example, have conducted studies that suggest that children’s attitudes about particular cultures are strongly influenced by the textbooks used in schools. Given this, an ongoing, careful review of how school textbooks depict Native Americans is certainly warranted.
Which of the following would most logically be the topic of the paragraph immediately following the passage?
(A) Specific ways to evaluate the biases of United States history textbooks
(B) The centrality of the teacher’s role in United States history courses
(C) Nontraditional methods of teaching United States history
(D) The contributions of European immigrants to the development of the United States
(E) Ways in which parents influence children’s political attitudes
