MBA CET Syllabus: Tips

Here are a few suggestions that will come in handy while going through the MBA CET syllabus on time as well as play to your strengths.

  • Owing to the break-neck competition, the cut off percentile of MAH CET MBA examination goes soaring high every year. Many a time, it goes even beyond 99th percentile, implying that you must aim for anywhere between 125-145 questions correct out of the given 150.
  • Difficulty Level and Correct Answers

o   Abstract Reasoning: Going by the previous year papers, the difficulty level of this section was adjudged to be at a moderate level. Out of that, if you attempt 19-22 questions correctly, bearing in mind that there is no negative marking, it will get you through. In this section, you will be given directions, on the basis of which you will have to interpret different alternatives and come at a chosen option.

o   Logical Reasoning: Toppers and teachers considered this section as having a moderate difficulty level along with being lengthy. Marking 42-55 questions correctly should be enough. Directions, blood relations, clocks etc. are common questions and can fetch you marks.

MBA Applications

o   Quantitative Aptitude: Having a moderate-to-difficult level, the quant section is usually quite tricky. Try to get anywhere between 35-38 questions correct. Important topics include ration & proportion, number system, simplification, approximation, etc. come in handy in reasoning and quant as well.

o   Verbal Ability/Reading Comprehension: Owing to reading comprehensions and time-intensive tasks, this section is typically of moderate difficulty level but lengthy. Try to have an aim of 32-35 questions correct, if you are good at it. Focus on vocabulary exercises and look out for antonyms, synonyms, one word substitution, word roots, translation in native language.

  • When you are preparing for the exam, make a section-wise schedule. Whether you have 1 or 2 or 3 months remaining, follow the schedule and chalk off topics as you go through.
