Many ambitious aspirants have the same question that whether a score above 700 would secure their admission in top MBA Programs. Also that how many questions do they have to get right to get a score of 720 and above?

How many questions you get right doesn’t matter in GMAT Test, Scores are calculated in a different manner. Your performance in comparison to how others are performing influences large part of your percentile scoring.

Verbal and Quantitative sections are scored on a scale of 0 to 60, the floor score below 6 or ceiling score of 51 is extremely rare. The total GMAT score ranges from 200 to 800 and is based on your performance in these two sections. Your score is determined by the number of questions you answer correctly or incorrectly, the level of difficulty and other statistical characteristics of each question in comparison to others’ performance.

The Verbal, Quantitative, and Total GMAT scores of your GMAT Exam are determined by a set of complex mathematical procedure that takes into account the difficulty of the questions that were presented to you and how you answered them. It keeps a record of your score in each section and also your performance in each question.
